Friday, February 3, 2012 is the official American Dental Association Give Kids a Smile event and The Foundation for Children's Dental Health will be a provider for the 3rd year in a row. We conduct our annual Children's Dental Clinic at the same time as the ADA Give Kids A Smile event and provide 40-50 local disadvantaged, low income, uninsured children with much needed dental care. The children treated through the clinic have been identified through the Foundations free dental screenings performed during October and November 2011 at schools from Newhall School District and Saugus Union School District. Local dentists and their staff partner with the Foundation to provide the dental care, dentists participating this year are Dr. Christopher Go, Dr. Amy Monti, Dr. Carolina Mendoza, Dr. Kathy Siu, Dr. Dean Schweitzer, Dr. Carla Abboud, Dr. Liliana Khabbaz and Dr. Mori Rouhani. Our clinic will be conducted over 5 days beginning with February 3, 2012. For more information about the clinic contact ewatson@1smileatatime.org or call (661) 254-1600
Our Adopt A Smile giving campaign is a year round fund raising effort for the foundation. We started three years ago and have raised over $20,000 to continue our services. Information is sent out twice a year, in February during Children's Dental Health Month, and November before the year ends. If you don't receive one in the mail but would like to make a contribution, please visit our donate page and make a safe contribution via PayPal. Every penny raised goes right back to serving children in our community. Thank you in advance for making us a charity of your choice.

The Foundation for Children's Dental Health is a non-profit organization dedicated to provide dental care to the underserved and unserved school children in the Santa Clarita Valley who would not otherwise have these services available to them.
Many children of low income families have never seen a dentist in Santa Clarita. Some sit silently in classrooms with deformities, excruciating pain and self-esteem issues. The number of local children that suffer silently is staggering.
The solution to this problem is simple: early screening and early intervention.
The Foundation for Children's Dental Health is a local organization already established and respected in the community ready to address these concerns! We are uniquely suited to do the job because we are a local Santa Clarita Foundation and have the capability to quickly address the needs of our children.
